Gift Ideas Generator app, GiftGen has had a design overhaul and has been relaunched as a free app (after previously being a paid one). The app has full access to the GiftGen website’s huge database of gift ideas and retailer suggestions, plus some additional features.

GiftGen is a gift finder tool that has been providing present suggestions for all occasions since 2005. The site boasts a database with thousands gift suggestions and retailers. This universal IOS app has full access to GiftGen’s constantly updated database, and with the price selections ranging from FREE to £600+ there is something for everyone’s budget.

Just choose how much you want to spend, a gender, an age and character of the recipient. Then click ‘Search High Street’ or ‘Search Online’. A gift list then pops up, along with links to suggested websites or high street shops to purchase them from. The GiftGen guys have done all the hard work of researching gift ideas and which sites and shops out there stock them, saving you heaps of time and hassle. It's quite fascinating to select your own details and see what gift ideas it suggests.

We’re hoping that by making the app free during the run-up to Christmas this year it will greatly increase downloads during this important present buying season”

Additional features of the App over the website are that you can save gift lists to your phone, edit them and add titles e.g. 'Emma 21st birthday'. You can also email gift lists to others, to get the opinion of friends or family, before deciding for sure which present you’re going to choose.

As GiftGen is free, it's also fun just to play with to see what it suggests for yourself!
